KAILASAHAR, OCT. 17 (TIWN) : Several protests and appeals became unable to break the slumber of the authority of Kailasahar Municipal Council and at last the fed up locales organized road blockade for meeting with their demands.

For almost a decade or so Ichabpur area was being used as the dumping ground for the Municipal area. But two years ago a dumping ground was set up at Ujan Jalai costing 50,00,000 rupees from MGNREGA fund. Still the older dumping station of Ichabpur was being used. The locales appealed for the DM, SDM, local Representatives several times with the demand of shifting of the dumping station from here as a new dumping station already existed to be used. But all their efforts failed to enter into the deaf ears of the authority of the so-called ‘Pragatisheel Prashasan’ of this state. As the last effort to wake up the authority, the local people of Ichabpur  today blocked road . Then the authority got stirred and the Executive Officer of the Kailasahar Municipal Council Mr. Animesh Dhar rushed to the spot and assured the local people of Ichabpur that the dumping ground would be shifted from here soon. The local people expressed that they would stage stronger movements if the assurance is not implemented soon.
