AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, May 19 (TIWN): Tripura’s pride Padma Shri Thanga Darlong was injured after he slipped at home.

His age is above 100 years right now, left in serious condition. It has been known that no help was offered by the State Govt yet even though before few months BJP Govt came in huge publicity with Darlong, boasted Modi Govt’s Act East Policy.

There are controversies regarding his sons' attitude towards him also. 

Darlong, an unlettered artiste, is received Padma Shri this year for his contribution to "Rosem", a flute-like folk music instrument. He has already been bestowed with the Sangeet Natak Academy Award, the Academic Fellowship Award and the state's Vayoshresta Samman for his efforts to save this dying art.

Academician and author Prabhas Chandra Dhar was conferred the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Integration Award for social service and academic accomplishment. Dhar is known for translating Ramayana into the local Kokborok language.
