AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): When Chief Minister Biplab Deb propagates about his so called ‘model state’, organizes press conference to blame West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for West Bengal's law and order condition, but in his own state people are not safe and whose house will be attacked when indeed no one can predict. Before two days on May 12 after the re-poll was conducted in 168 booths, CPI-M’s Jirania Sub-Divisional Secretary Tarun Datta’s House at Khayerpur was attacked with petrol bomb and on yesterday at midnight again the same attack took place. In both incidents police could not take any action yet. Their domestic cat for suffered for long and died. Police, security persons rushed to the spot and huge gathering of local people in the house was witnessed in midnight. Last time when his house was attacked, Biplab Deb instead of giving any statement, via his Law Minister Ratanlal Nath told media that “Tripura cited example of peaceful electionâ€. This is a part of BJP’s post poll violence led by BJP General Secretary Pratima Bhowmik.
This inhuman attack, eventhough could not be condemned by the Chief Minister but statewide condemnation has started.
After each election, post poll-violence has occurred and this violence is part of post re-poll attack.
Earlier, after 11th April poll, Pratima Bhowmik was found threatening a police officer to murder on spot saying, “Hum abhi tereko mar dalega…….”, but as Election Commission did not take any action against Pratima Bhowmik thus such incidents are being repeated.
Voting percentage was dropped a little at 72.35% in West Tripura Re-Poll whereas the percentage may increase more. West District-74 %, Sepahijala District-68%, Gomati District-73%, South Tripura District-74.42%. In few places rigging attempt was alleged, with few untoward incidents led police complaints also by opposition. But voters prevention was reported in many places and it’s visible with down voting rate. The Re-Poll started in West Tripura constituency’s 168 polling booths on Sunday morning 7 am. Polling and continued till 5 pm. The assembly segments in Tripura West include Simna (ST), Mohanpur, Bamutia (SC), Barjala (SC), Khayerpur, Ramnagar, Town Bordowali, Majlishpur, Mandai Bazar, Takarjala (ST), Pratapgarh (SC), Badharghat (SC), Kamalasagar, Bishalgarh, Golghati, Charilam, Boxanagar, Nalchar, Sonamura, Dhanpur, Bagma (ST), Radhakishorepur, Matabari, Kakraban-Salgarah (SC), Rajnagar (SC) and Belonia. Since early morning rows of voters were observed before polling stations. The re-election was followed by massive rigging in West Tripura poll on April 11.
Pratima Bhowmik has desperately blamed the Central forces accusing them for terrorizing voters.
However, Bhowmik looked happy as rigged 400 booths left without re-polling.
