KAMALPUR, October 16 (TIWN): Kamaleswari Kalibari, the centenary religious institute of Kamalpur is all set to celebrate its 105th Kalipuja this year. The priest of the temple Krishnadas Bhattacharjee told TIWN that, like previous years , this year too the Puja Committee is all set to organize the Puja with due rituals and mythological customs.
In fact, this puja, without much hype and decoration, always remains the centre of attraction for the devotees throughout the whole night of Kalipuja. It is notable that, way back in 1910, a non-bengali businessman of Sylhet ( in present Bangladesh) donated the land for the temple. The idol of Kastik stone was brought from Benaras and the temple was started in a bamboo-thatch at the place of present day temple. Later in 1961 the sons of Late Rasmohan Chakraborty of Kamalpur set up the temple building. From 1910 the Kali puja is being organized here.
