AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): CPI-M on Sunday after the re-poll for West Tripura constituency completed, said that the poll was not 100% peaceful as many voters could not come out for votes.
Addressing in a press conference, CPI-M State General Secretary Gautam Das said that since the day of re-poll announcement, the opposition voters were threatened not to cast votes.
He also said, many of the polling agents of CPI-M could not come to the booth due to massive prevention by BJP hooligans.
On being asked by media whether CPI-M will demand re-poll in the crucial booths which were rigged today, Gautam Das that CPI-M will not demand but the party will wait for the Supreme Court hearing about re-poll.
Voting percentage was down at 73% whereas BJP MP candidate Pratima Bhowmik blamed Central Forces for less voting percentage.
Gautam Das today in the evening press conference said the re-poll in 168 booths were announced after checking the footage inside the booths on 11th April but what happens in outside those weren’t check.
The CPI-M leader expressed resentment as even after various complaints no arrest of miscreants was done.
