AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): One 40 years old housewife burnt herself critically over her frustration against husband who day-night keeps himself drunk and tortures her.

The housewife named Karuna Bhumij (40), Wife of Nimai Bhumij is a resident of Kulai, set herself in fire after being fed up with husband’s continuous tortures, poverty and lunatic condition with physical and verbal beatings day-night..

She soon jumped in a local water body known as “lunga” but after taking her in hospital at Kulai Doctor declared her 100% body has been burnt.She was referred to Kamalpur hospital, but medical staffs informed that she has zero chance of her survival.

Karuna’s son Nirmal who is a student of Class-VI alleged, his father often physically tortured her and out of frustration she was bound to do this.

Locals have beaten Nimai Bhumij on spot as the allegations against Nimai is not new.
