Agartala, Oct 15 (TIWN): Police arrested two rapists with the charges of gangrape committed on September 20, this year. In an awful incident, a housewife was gang-raped in the capital city- Agartala on September 20. The victim is a resident of Ramnagar area. She works as a sales girl in a shop at the city.

According to her husband, the incident took place while she was returning to her house after completion of her work on September 20; she met two known faces- Ranjit Sarkar alias Mona and Bimal Das on the way. After a little interaction, they caught an auto-rickshaw saying that they will drop her. During the period, the accused persons had offered cool drink mixed of sleeping pills to her. Later, they had taken her in a private hotel of the city and raped her inhumanely.

The victim lodged a written complaint against Ranjit Sarkar and Bimal Das, residents of Banikya Chowmohani with East Agartala police station, last evening.

Of late, police netted Ranjit last night while another accused Bimal was arrested today. Ranjit was produced before the court, today. Bimal will be produced before the court tomorrow. Police are investigating the matter.
