Agartala, Oct 12 (TIWN): Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) in Tripura called for countrywide protest to ensure the alteration of anti-public policies introduced by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government with 12-point charter of demands on December 05, next.
The Minister for Power, Panchayat and Transport Departments and state president of CITU- Manik Dey while addressing a convention organized by CITU today at Agartala town hall said, “Within the few months of forming government in Centre, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been introducing different anti-people policies which are against of the interest of the country.” He appealed to all the state people to take part in the country-wide protest rally in West Tripura district and Bishalghar sub-division including all other subdivisions on December 05, next.
It is very sore that the central government allegedly functions by maintaining the agreement policy continue by diverting the people from social safety, job security and wages instead of carrying responsibilities as idol government, he said.
To make the massive protest grand successful, the CITU has taken various programme Initiatives. As a part, CITU has decided to complete all the division wise joint convention by October and to launch campaign in favour of support the demands to the people, he said.
CITU demanded; unnecessary foreign investment should be stopped, allocation of funds for the welfare of people should not be reduced, upper limit for bonus, provident fund and gratuity should be eradicated; the Centre should take basic action to prevent the price-rise, pension scheme should be ensured for all, the Centre should take essential step for the implementation of Labour Act accordingly including many more.
