AGARTALA, April 3 (TIWN): With another undemocratic move against opposition, BJP hooligans have attacked SUCI’s MP candidate Arun Bhowmik at Kanchanmala during election campaigning.

Arun Bhowmik was attacked as he is West Tripura candidate, rival of tainted BJP MP candidate Pratima Bhowmik.

Their vehicles were vandalized, physical and verbal attacks brought against the candidate and his supporters.

Addressing media, Arun Bhowmik said, “Before we reached to Kanchanmala bazar, around 50 to 60 BJP people rushed to us and our mike’s wire was cut, glasses of the vehicles were broken. They were unready to listen anything from us, rather continued slang words and shouting”.

“They were telling us if we carry BJP flags then only they would allow us to enter”.

Getting informed SI from Amtali PS rushed to the spot and lodged the FIR.

Few of the miscreants have been identified and specific FIRs have been lodged against them. The miscreants against whom FIRs were lodged are : 1) Tutal Debnath, 2) Dulan Sutradhar, 3) Prasenjit Das, 4) Sanju Roy.
