Agartala, Oct 12 (TIWN): Alike every year, International Disaster Management Day will be observed across Tripura on October 13. To mark the observance of the day, various programme initiatives have been taken in the capital city- Agartala.
On the occasion, swearing-in ceremony will be held on natural disaster reduction at 10.30 am in Secretariat. The Chief Secretary- G.K. Rao would administer the oath.
After the completion of oath taking ceremony, on behalf of the fire-service department, a mock-drill would be conducted on fire safety. As part of programmes, a state-wide rally will be organized. The rally will be started from the Umakanta Academy at 11 am. The Minister for Science, Technology and Environment- Bijita nath would begin the rally by hosting the flag.
On the other hand, West Tripura district administration has also been taken several programmes to observe the International Disaster Management Day. As a part, siren will be played for a minute at 1 pm. During the siren, all the officers and staffs of different offices including District Magistrate (DM) office would stay in their own places.
Thereafter, oath taking ceremony on disaster management and mock-drill on fire safety would be conducted at Umakanta Academy ground.
The District Magistrate (DM), West- Abhishek Singh would administer the oath. During the ceremony, employees of various departments including fire-service department would take participation.
