‘BJP trying to repeat local body poll-rigging episodes in Lok Sabha Election but EC silent’ : CPI-M hits on BJP’s massive Poll rigging Plan, Election Commissioner’s role under scanner

AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): Crime Queen Pratima led Terror spree raising questions on Free & Fair Election in Tripura. CPI-M has condemned the ongoing attacks upon opposition by ruling BJP, expressing resentment on Election Commission for its silent role. The reaction came after former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was attacked at Dhanpur by BJP miscreants. Addressing media, CPI-M State General Secretary Gautam Das also has condemned the parallel attack on Congress MP candidate Subal Bhowmik at Sonamura. Gautam Das said, the West Tripura opposition candidates are is facing highest attacks by BJP everyday and MP Sankar Prasad Dutta has been attacked for 4 times at least amid mode code of conduct. “Whereas BJP is attacking the oppositions day night but Election Commission is silent, not taking action even after multiple times complains were sent against the ongoings.

Gautam Das said, “Day night Biplab Deb is threatening that he would teach lessons to opposition and because he is holding the Home Ministry and deployed jawans are working under direction of Tripura police. So no action is being taken against the BJP hooligans”.

“They (BJP) are thinking just like local body elections they can do same level of rigging in this election, but it’s not local body election. Lok Sabha Election is the most important election. Modi Govt has destroyed the country in last 5 years. Corruption on peak. Unity, integrity are on threat.  People across the country are determind to remove Narendra Modi Govt from the power”, Gautam Das told media.

“In our state also in last 1 year in that people are much angry and frustrated of the Govt. Those who voted for BJP for development today repenting.  No law and order is existing anymore”, said Das.

“We requested and today also requesting that opposition parties should be allowed to continue democratic practice”, he said.

“Tripura cited example of highest voting rates in past few years but that environment is destroyed today. We again urge Election Commission to create democratic environment so that people fearlessly can cast their votes on 11th April, 18th April”, Gautam Das told media.

CPI-M further urged common men to come forward with courage and cast their votes.
