Udaipur / Agartala, March 27 (TIWN): Election Commission & Tripura’s spineless Police Administration chosen to remain mute spectator as Democracy under violent attack in Tripura. Once again brutal attack on West Tripura CPI-M sitting MP, also nominated MP candidate for 2019 Lok Sabha Election Sankar Prasad Dutta has hit public trust on Election Commission, erupting terror, resentment among public. The attack took place at Matabari assembly’s Dataram where a pre-scheduled party programme of Shankar Dutta was to take place but the programme was stopped by force. At the same time at least 3 vehicles of CPI-M were broken, few were injured. Reacting over the incident, CPI-M State General Secretary Gautam Das expressed resentment on Election Commission’s role. “We repeatedly urged the Election Commission and still urging to deploy central forces at the earliest in the state of Tripura”, Gautam Das said.

Briefing the incident, Gautam Das from Melarmath CPI-M headquarter said,  “Today at around 5.30 pm massive attack took place on our West Tripura MP candidate Sankar Datta at Matabari assembly-Dataram, where he went to attend a pre-scheduled party programme. At first BJP attempted to attack him and the campaigning was stopped by force. Even though the MP saved himself but our 3 cars were broken. The attack was pre-planned”. “We all know, who the opponent of Sankar Dutta in the West District. During last Assembly Election-2018, she was pressuring the returning officer illegally to win her against Manik Sarkar from Dhanpur constituency even though she got very minimum vote”, added Gautam Das. He further asserted that Pratima Bhowmik like leaders are now unfortunately BJP’s MP candidate and thus she is inspiring other hooligans to break law and order again and again.

 “Just three days ago on 24th March, 3 times MP Sankar Dutta was attacked in organized manner, but even after we complained to the Election Commission as well as State Election Commission, but nothing has been changed”, Das alleged.

“In past few days so many attacks took place, many CPI-M activists were injured but nobody was arrested. Such attitudes are motivating the hooligans more and more”, Gautam Das said.

Pratima Bhowmik has been accused of her own brother’s wife’s murder and also BJP leader, ex-leader raised question on her nexus with drug-empire.Pratima Bhowmik was allegedly responsible for attacks upon opposition in last 1 year where above 2000 opposition activists were seriously injured and 6 were killed and many people’s houses, properties were burnt. Also she without having any official position directly controls official matters of Biplab Deb’s Govt. BJP’s dedicated Dhanpur Mandal President Ranjit Majumder’s murder was also mysterious which uplifted Pratima Bhowmik politically in the space. 

Also BJP MLA Surajit Dutta has alleged her nexus with drug mafias of the state. At the same time, Pratima Bhowmik has disputed property which is unmatched with her earning.Her family made multi-crores properties in last 1 year which is abnormal and matter of inquiry.

Today, BJP Yuva Morcha President Tinku Das while attending Bishalgarh rally of Pratima Bhowmik said that BJP wants to see Pratima Bhowmik as Central Minister after winning her MP seat.
