Agartala, October 10, 2014 (TIWN): The Tripura Police using the same weapon to shield the criminals at large. Both in case of Bimal and current case of Soma Majumdar improper sections have been imposed to make a way out for the offenders. “As all the sections were bailable the accuseds have whole heartedly surrendered before the court and they have already been granted the bail”, PCC Mohila Congress Chairperson Kalyani Roy, today, while talking to TIWN.

 The Women arm of the PCC today has given a deputation to the Superintendent of Police (SP) OF West Bijoy Nag. As the President, who also is an Advocate by profession, informed the East Agartala Police Station (PS) has registered the case under sections 341, 342, 327, 334 and such other sections of Indian Penal Code
(IPC) which are bailable. The concerned case number in the East PS is 172/201.  

“Section 334 subsection b [354(b)] should have been imposed in this regard but the Police have deliberately avoided that to work in favor of the culprits” said the PCC Women Congress President. “We have requested to include section 379 in the FIR”, she further added. As the inhuman fellows, after being granted the bail, are roaming free, they are reported to threaten the helpless woman by commenting “We will look how your husband and son reach home?” Meanwhile, the SP has said that he would direct the IO to make a pryer in the court so that canceling g the bail the wrongdoers can be brought under custody. “I would look into the evidentiary documents and if proper sections are not imposed I would ensure the same”, said the SP. The case has been filed under 161 of CrPc (The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973) according to the criminal procedure of the case concerned.

Now, what the lip service of the SP yields, in this regard is to watch for the days to come.
