AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): As expected, Home Dept led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb has saved own face and the SP of West Tripura, Ajit Pratap Singh even though both of them are liable before the public for ordering firing in Madhab Bari of Jirania on January 8, 2019 when a protest was going on against Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Police led firing injured 6 youths critically. Later police attacked on the ambulance in huge group. A group of non-Tiprasa with BJP flag burnt public properties. But no action was taken against them under the Magisterial investigation.

It was no way possible that without SP’s permission police led the firing on air. Moreover, SP after the incident claimed that firing was done on Air, whereas Magisterial investigation has claimed SP had no role in that firing.

Opposition parties demanded Judicial investigation in the case.

Jirania SDPO Pran Krishna Das and one TSR Jawan Srikanta Bhowmik have come out as the ‘goat of the sacrifice’. Govt has suspended both of them.
