Tripura Opposition Leader seeks immediate resignation of Chief Minister

Agartala, Oct 10 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) will move to Tripura High Court and will file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on the Bishalghar scam worth Rs 17 crore. We shall file the PIL on the multi-crore scam just after the ending of puja holidays, said Opposition Leader of Tripura- Sudip Roy Barman on Friday.

While interacting with the media persons at Congress Bhavan, Barman further expressed cavernous condemn on the Chandrapur Kalibari incident, here today.

Heavily come down on the ruling government, Barman bitterly criticized the role of Chief Minister as mute spectator and demanded immediate resignation of Chief Minister on the massive scam of Bishalghar RD block.

“TPCC will help the victim of Chandrapur Kalibari incident accordingly to get proper justice. We shall not support the step of victim if she goes for any mutual understanding with the accused persons”, Sudip mentioned.

“We shall move to High Court seeking CBI probe regarding the massive MGNREGA scam of Bishalghar Rural Development (RD) block worth Rs 17 crore and file PIL after puja holidays. We shall also appoint an eminent advocate from Kolkata to move the litigation”, added Barman. He also claimed that not only 12 persons, more than 105 government employees are allegedly involved in this multicrore scam.

In the wake of Chandrapur brutal incident, Tripura Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee will visit Director General of Police and will seek proper investigation of the incident, the sources confirmed.

It is to be mentioned here, few persons including women assaulted Soma Majumder (Debnath), resident of Kalibari area in Chandrapur under East Agartala police station by tying her with a pillar in presence of the Gram Panchayat Pradhan when she appeared for to attend a reconciliation meeting on October 06. She blamed some persons for offering liquor to her husband- Nirmal Debnath on Monday evening on the occasion Dashami. Getting furious, some people including women physically assaulted Soma on the spot.

The very next day, she was again thrashed by them by tying her with a pillar when they were summoned for a hearing in the presence of Pradhan. As a result, Soma received grievous injuries on her person. She was taken to the GBP hospital immediately late on the evening.
