AGARTALA, March 13 (TIWN): As election is knocking the doors and BJP didn’t share any seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, IPFT has announced to fight alone in the Lok Sabha election and their issue will be a separate state named “Tipraland†for Tiprasa people, whereas around the year IPFT was silent about Tipraland, just like BJP’s Ram Mandir, India / Pakistan issues turn vibrant ahead of Lok Sabha election.
BJP’s ally IPFT’s Tipraland is losing mass-faith since its alliance with BJP turned the party leaders puppets of the saffron. Tipraland is the name of a proposed state in India. The formation of "Tipraland", a state within the ADC areas dedicated for the indigenous people of Tripura.
Before Assembly Election 2018, IPFT promised its people that once they come in power, Tipraland will be made taking whole ADC area and Tripura will be divided in two parts.
BJP’s alliance with IPFT had shocked the people and also fear gripped whether BJP to give Tipraland in IPFT’s demand once voted to power, but BJP in non-ADC areas assured that the party believes in One-Tripura ideology.
In alliance with BJP, IPFT got 8 seats whereas BJP bagged 36 seats, but IPFT till now could not raise Tipraland issue in the Assembly, rather all regional parties and Tiprasa people are now resented on IPFT.
IPFT has two Ministers in alliance with BJP-IPFT Govt : 1) N C Debbarma (IPFT President), 2) Mebar Jamatia but the resentment brewed against IPFT when both the Ministers remained silent when on January 8, 2019 at Madhav Bari (Jirania) police firing injured 6 Tiprasa youths who were protesting against Citizenship Amendment Bill, but IPFT did not supported the Tiprasa sentiment, rather NC Debbarma accompanied Chief Minister Biplab Deb when he called Tiprasa agitators as “anti-national” and “anti-social”.
In last one year, there was no development on Tipraland issue but now IPFT has announced to give candidates in Lok Sabha election as BJP did not share any seat with IPFT.
IPFT has announced to fight the Lok Sabha Election all alone as a gesture to their Tipraland demand. In a press conference, IPFT leader Mangal Debbarma has announced that.
Mangal Debbarma said that during BJP National President Amit Shah’s visit also the IPFT leaders held meeting with him, but no development came.As only two seats are preserved for Tripura Lok Sabha election, so IPFT will give own candidates. The IPFT leader further said that the protest for Tipraland will be strengthening more and more as far as the election will come closer.
Recently Tripura CM Biplab Deb said, just like BJP could not have Ram Mandir under NDA alliance, same IPFT can't have Tipraland due to alliance with BJP.
