AGARTALA, Feb 27 (TIWN): Tripura State Rifles job aspirants who were selected in 2016-17’s interview are now overage but BJP Govt hasn’t appointed them yet. A protest was staged before Governor Kaptan Singh Solnaki’s residence on Wednesday after police didn’t allow to meet them with the Governor. The job aspirants said, “We got those jobs under State Govt, not under any party. Even though Tripura Govt announced to recruit new staffs but we will not have age on that time. So, if our jobs are not given we will go in bigger protests”. “Wherever we are going, they are pushing police after us. The BJP Govt after coming in power said that all job recruitments under Left Govt has been cancelled. Why are they doing this ? Did we got our job based on party colour ? We are poor and need the job, otherwise we will do massive protest in any form we wish, as our lives are spoiled”, the agitators said. TSR job aspirants who passed interview in 2016-17 yet to be recruited by the Govt, whereas unemployment rate is Tripura is taking a dangerous shape.

The job aspirants said, “It’s almost 2 years that we had passed the interview. We requested the previous and the present govt both. All gave us positive responses, but nothing happened actually. We are now roaming door to door. If no response we get now, then we will go for massive protest. Shortly Lok Sabha election will be held and all recruitments will be stopped". 

"We are waiting here for 6 am. Wherever we are going, they are denying to talk to us. Last time when we went to CM through police we were threatened. All states are recruiting people, except Tripura. CM is our guardian….then where should we go ?”

Not only in TSR but in each depts job-recruitments are being cancelled. Frustration has gripped unemployed youths in Tripura, specially job aspirants following the ongoing recruitment drought. Even, BJP’s ally Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has asked the BJP led State Govt to recruit teachers in faster manner. The statement came from ABVP after Education Minister Ratanlal Nath on Thursday in SCERT meeting said that teaches will be filtered tightly before recruiting and unemployment has no link with teachers recruitment. Also above 3000 vacant posts for which recruitment advertisement was given was cancelled.  

The previous Govt eventhough was blamed for massive unemployment problems of Tripura, but time to time recruitments were done and in each week former Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha calling media, announced job creation.

But BJP even though came in power by promising to fillup 50,000 vacant posts in Govt Depts, but after 11 months of passage instead of recruiting Govt has continued cancelling existing recruitments. Pause in recruitment has lifted roars of protest in Tripura in recently days.CPI-M’s wings have marched a massive protest in the capital city Agartala seeing reason behind cancellation of huge numbers of vacant posts under TET circulation. The CPI-M youth and student wings gheraoed the Education office, placed deputation seeking reason behind cancelling the TET exams, but so far no clarification has been given by the State Govt yet.

There was also no clarification by State Govt about the Govt circulation which said, Tripura has enough numbers of employees and therefore, there is no need of further employment.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced total 2014 posts will be vacated for those battalions with 25% reservation for outsiders and 10% for women.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has permitted for special relaxation for Tripura job aspirants that instead of 10th passed, now the 8 passed people can appear in that interview.Total numbers of posts are 2014 and 25% for outsiders and 10% relaxation for women.

But, the previously selected 484 TSR job aspirants were not mentioned in that press meet.
