Tripura Budget 2018-19 : Social Pension hiked by meager 300 rupees, not Rs 2000

AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN): Amid zero-deficit budget and no good news for middle class and unemployed section of people, BJP Govt has hiked Rs. 300 social pension for beneficiaries.

Thus social pension is now Rs. 1000 which BJP however promised Rs. 2000.

A Rs. 17,530 crores of budget has been placed by Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma in the Assembly.

However, 35.07% budget will be gone for salaries and for pensions 13.15%, interest payment is 5.87% whereas repayment loans are 4.09%.

51.82% will be given for other projects.

The Finance Minister further mentioned a tight financial situation due to previous Govt led Rs. 12,900 crores of debts

Social pension was hiked by Rs. 300 i.e. from Rs. 700 it has been hiked for Rs. 1000 per month.

Govt however claimed, no new addition of tax was imposed, whereas state govt already imposing taxes from fuel to pensions.

BJP has congratulated the Govt for its zero-deficit budget placement.
