Agartala, Oct 8 (TIWN): A body was found hanging from a tree in Harishnagar Tea Garden in Bishalgarh Sub Division today morning.
The deceased, identified as Uttam Debnath was learnt to be a musical instrument player. Uttam (40), was the resident of Murabari area of West Laxmibil area.
Bishalgarh police said that Uttam went out of his house on Tuesday late night and never returned to his house. The very next morning, his body was found hanging from a tree in the garden. Sub Inspector of Bishalgarh Police Station – Sambhu Lodh said that Uttam used to intake ganja and other intoxicated things and was also suffering from mental disorder.
“His family members said that Uttam used to lead a fearful life. And he had a big fear about police too,” said Lodh. His body was sent to Bishalgarh Hospital for post mortem.
Police sources said that though the post mortem was not done yet, Uttam might have committed suicide out of fear psychosis. Uttam has no criminal record in the past, said police.
A case of unnatural death was registered with the police station.
