AGARTALA, Feb 21 (TIWN): Even after faceloss in the High Court, Tripura Govt has continued with undemocratic move of no permission for political rallies before the Lok Sabha election.
CPI-M leader Rama Das said, giving no permission with excuse of law and order itself proves there is no law and order in state.
Resentments have brewed among CPI-M as police has cancelled permission for a rally at Bamutia.
CPI-M women wing leaders said that at Bamutia a rally was scheduled on February 21st and permission for the rally was also given earlier.
But the permission was cancelled just ahead of the rally saying, ‘law and order will be hampered’. CPI-M was to protest demanding reservation for women in parliament.
CPI-M said, such notice from administration shows that Tripura doesn’t have law and order and women are not secured here.
“We demanded permission just for a rally. It was not a gherao or disobedience movement. Then why police couldn’t give us permission?”, said the Nari Samiti leaders.
