AGARTALA, Feb 15 (TIWN): One robber was held by West Agartala Police on Friday who was escaping after snatching a gold necklace from a woman.

West Agartala OC-Subrata Chakraborty said, today morning at around 8 am one Charipara resident Kajal Purokayasta’s gold chain was snatched by two miscreants at Ramanagar.

3 bikers suddenly came and snatched the gold chain from her neck. Both the woman and the bikers, all fall on the ground and when the woman attempted to take her chain again, she was hit with brick.

Two robbers escaped from spot with the bike, whereas one escaped into a school. In the mean time, police getting informed rushed to the spot and found one robber from the school.

For investigation purpose, police didn’t take the booked person’s name. The gold chain was recovered from the robber.

Such robberies also happened in past days in Agartala.
