In similar way, the Modi Govt has been slashing MGNREGA funds for Tripura even though everytime in budget data claim that Northeast budget has been hiked. Holding a press conference at Congress Bhawan, Tripura Congress President Birjit Sinha comparing both UPA and NDA Govts’ era said, “In UPA Govt’s time the then CPI-M Govt couldn’t utilize the full fund came for MGNREGA and in many places 100 days works couldn’t be thus given, but today MGNREGA mandays has downed at around 30%. Across the state an unpleasant situation is going on. People are depressed. Govt must take initiative to develop the situationâ€.Noteworthy, from 94% MGNREGA mandays, Tripura is now suffering from acute crisis of work, affecting the economy overall the state including hitting the business.
