AGARTALA, Feb 4 (TIWN): CPI-M in Tripura has kicked off a massive protest rally in the state capital city Agartala against Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016.
CPI-M agitated against the proposed bill, saying a bill in India can not exclude any particular religion (Muslims) according to the constitutional.
CPI-M’s indigenous people’s wing Ganamukti Parishad have also against the bill including all religions and demanded the bill should not be implemented in Northeast as Tripura allegedly received tons of foreigners since 1971, remained unchecked.
According to the party, it would not only affect the unemployed youths rather to hit the demography of the state where indigenous people are striving for their cultural existence.
Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has led the massive rally. In the Parliament recently, CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury has cited 36 reasons for not approving the bill.
