Udaipur Youth Club celebrating Diamond Jubilee Durga Puja

UDAIPUR, October 3 (TIWN): " As per Tithi Dashami is being observed today but we will treat it as Maha Navami; however Dashami Puja has been observed in the morning. This is the Diamond Jubilee(60th year) of Club's foundation as well as the Durga Puja celebration. So we have to be innovative in everything," reacts Youth Club Puja Committee Secretary Bappa Goswami while speaking to TIWN on Friday night. Youth Club is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee Year and naturally the budget is Rs 16 lakh, the biggest in the Gomati District. Secretary informed TIWN," The idol of Durga has been made by Tarak Pal,famous Clay Artisan of West Bengal. The pandal is built by Janapriya Decorator of Nabadweep. And the lights and sounds are jointly displayed by Raju Decorator of Nabadweep and Manti Electric of Udaipur. " Through the idol the clay artisan Tarak Pal has beautifully portrayed the havocs caused by 'Cloud Burst' in Uttarakhanda last year.He said that the members took a special care to avoid polythene in any of the causes.

   Moreover, Secretary aslo said that on Friday the club members have distributed 'Anna Bhog' to each and every family living in the areas covered under the club ( around 1650 families). More than 150 volunteers were engaged to perform this task. On Maha Panchami the Puja Pandal was inaugurated and declared open to all. Keeping the interest of the crowd the pandal and Durga idol will remain open to all up to Monday noon. To entertain the crowd ,every night cultural programmes are being held from Maha Panchami and it will continue up to Sunday next.

      In the cultural programs, artists from Tripura and Kolkata are performing, much to the delight of the crowd. Club Secretary Harekrishna Saha told TIWN," As part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration we will organize various programmes throughout the year and Mega Health Camp, Distribution of Winter garments among the poor, cleanliness around the club areas and Environment Awareness Camp as well as Tree Plantations are on the cards. Moreover, the aged persons of the area will also be felicitated during Diwali. " Saha said that on Mobday immersion of Durga Idol will take place with a procession of 10000 people including women. He also said that the Diamond Jubilee programme will come to an end in next years Durga Puja.
