AGARTALA, Jan 12 (TIWN): Tripura has been undergoing 4 strikes since 5 days as various political parties are organizing the strikes, including today’s Ramnagar (Agartala) strike called by BJP MLA himself.

On January 8, January 9 CPI-M had called two days long strike in Tripura along with the whole nation.

Along with that strike NESO had called a separate strike for 11 hours protesting against the Citizenship Bill, ended with massive violence fueled by police firing which left 6 youths injured.

Then protesting against police firing regional parties have called for another strike today in ADC areas. As a result section-144 had be implemented in those areas.

But BJP MLA Surajit Datta was attacked by BJP General Secretary Pratima Bhowmik’s gang after Datta allegedly warned their smuggling and ‘hafta’ collection in  border areas. With that issue, the MLA has called 24 hours strike in his own area at Ramnagar today.

Section 144 has been imposed at Ramanagar, the heart zone of Agartala city.
