AGARTALA, Jan 11 (TIWN): CPI-M and other Leftist parties opposed INPT called 12-hours-ADC strike saying that it would disrupt the peace in the state.
Addressing media, CPI-M spokesperson Bijan Dhar said, “CPI-M is always concerned about the law and order and tribal-nontribal harmony. Whether we stay in power or not, at any cost, we would not compromise with that agenda”.
“We believe that this strike will not be helpful to reestablish the law and order and in this situation this strike can not be supported. Till day to save this harmony many people, police, armies gave their bloods in Tripura”, he said.
“Knowing fully well that INPT and other regional parties’ demands are valid, their moto is democratic but we urge them to withdraw the strike seeing the ongoing tensed situation across the state”, he claimed.
