AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): CPI-M and its tribal wing GMP have condemned the brutal attack on students by state police when they were staging agitation against Citizenship Bill 2016 at Jirania subdivision.
In a press release, CPI-M State Committee spokesperson Haripada Das said, “Today against Citizenship Bill, a road blockade was held at Jirania on the National Highway, but as soon as BJP activists went there, the situation turned tensed and under the order of State Govt, TSR first released tear gas and then started firing left 6 youths injured. CPI-M condemns this brutal attack on agitators and wishing for the faster recovery of the injured youths”.
In a separate press release, CPI-M’s tribal wing Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP) also has condemned the attack on picketers by state police.
