AGARTALA, Jan 7 (TIWN): Counterattacking BJP’s classification of CPI-M as anti-tribal as CPI-M never dedicated Agartala Airport’s name on Maharaja Bir Bikram, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam and former Minister Naresh Jamatia raised question, if this is the case, how Tripura State run University was dedicated in King Bir Bikram’s name ?
“CPI-M since 1945 had been protesting against king led misruling. Kings never wanted Tripura’s tribal people should be educated. We brought revolution, but still we never disobeyed Tripura Kings, rather CPI-M always have honoured them”, said Gautam Das.
“Airport renaming is a central issue, doesn’t belong to state. BJP before election promised to rename it and we didn’t oppose. But how can they impose charges of anti-tribal on CPI-M”, he said.
Das further asked BJP Govt, “Will your renaming of Airport to end tribal people’s problems” ?
