AGARTALA, Jan 2 (TIWN): Tripura University is going strengthen its Fine Arts department.
While inaugurating a two-day exhibition of “Art Party Kala Pradarshani –III” at Tripura University on Tuesday, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof V L Dharurkar said, ‘special arrangements will be made to encourage creative and artistic activities in the varsity’.
‘Exhibitions of the artistic creations will also be made a regular feature in the varsity’, said Prof Dharurkar, who during his inaugural speech of exhibition organized by the students and FFAG, also dwelt on the contributions of great masters of the past and also of the modern world. He himself also participated and painted in the exhibition.
Altogether 10 artists took part in the exhibition.
The exhibition showcased creations of Ramakant Jee, Nitesh Kumar , Kishore, Trisha Bhoumik, Binita Das, Pankit Kumar, Kumari Kashish, Talaiba, Kumar Ayan Bhattacharjee et al. Prof Dharurkar was also presented with a portrait and a creation by Talaiba.
The programme was attended by among others OSD to Lalit Kala Vivag Rajesh Bhowmik, Dr Subrata Deb, Dr Kapoor. The programme was hosted by Prince Kumar Upadhyaya.
