CPI-M’s social media raised question when Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb had completed his MBBS degree after he blamed Doctors for pushing unnecessary blood to patient at the minimum disease of feeling weakness. After Biplab Deb had asked doctors to save blood by pushing blood to the critical patients only, netizens asked when Biplab Deb completed his MBBS degree as during submission of nomination he only mentioned of his BA pass degree. On the other side, news posted in TIWN social media, netizens mentioned Biplab Deb is thinking himself as Munna Bhai MBBS (a Hindi movie played by Actor Sanjay Dutt). Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has asked his state’s Doctors and Hospital authorities while addressing in a blood donation camp at Agartala on December 16 said, “Only because a patient is having weakness, don’t push blood in his body. First check the level of hemoglobin in his / her body”.

“We need to save blood. In other states hardly blood donation camps take place, but there is no blood crisis. So, I think we have to manage it. Where is the problem we need to find out it. I have seen big states like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra where no blood crisis is felt, but even after so many blood donation camps held in Tripura, why that much of blood crisis existing here ? The cause of blood crisis are the technical issues. Whether the collected blood units are given to the hospitals properly or not, it needs to be checked too. Whether the patient who needs blood s/he is pushed with blood or any patient coming for simple reason is pushed with blood. Such matters have to be checked”, added Biplab Deb.

CM’s speech only caused power tussle in his cabinet too as Health Minister counterattacked the Chief Minister by pinching speech.

After Chief Minister Biplab Deb raised question on the ongoing ‘Blood Crisis’ amid Health Minister Sudip Barman’s day-night inauguration of blood donation camps which is somehow minimizing Biplab Deb’s publicity, Sudip Barman today while addressing in a blood donation camp at Tripura Medical & Nursing College Karmachari ‘s programme said that Health Dept will make the blood availability more transparent so that nobody can “spread rumours”.
