BARAMURA, Dec 10 (TIWN): A peaceful ending of INPT led rail/ national highway blockade was drawn on Monday at Barmaura with around 500 party activists arrest.
The protest was staged as a part of opposing Citizenship Bill 2018, which allows all foreigners (except Muslims) to be facilitated with Indian Citizenship.
IPFT, tribal backed party in Tripura predicted that this bill will cause the extinction of Tripura’s original tribes culture and tradition.
INPT further urged for NRC to identify the foreigners and to push back them from the country.
The road and railway blockade which started from the early morning was ended with around 500 INPT activists were arrested.
No untoward incident was reported from the protest.
