AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): “I was neither a Pristha Promukh nor Mandal President because I became the Party President of Tripura on the same day I joined BJP. I was directly elevated”, such has been claimed by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb while addressing in a party programme at Udaipur.

Biplab Deb was appointed as BJP President of Tripura on January 6, 2016.

“I became the Party President on 6th January, 2016. On the same day, I took membership of BJP. I didn’t work for BJP earlier but the day I became BJP, I was elevated as Party President. However, my case is exceptional and exception happens once only”, Biplab Deb said.
