AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): Like every year, on the day of Babri Mosque demolition by a political rally turned violent, CPI-M has called for “Secularism Day†to fight back the one-religion ideology of a party-political vote bank.
However, like every year, in Tripura with the change of the Govt various restrictions have been imposed on programmes centering this day.
CPI-M will conduct a massive rally at Agartala today at 3 pm to observe this day as one of the black days of democracy, in a press conference CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar has announced.
The CPI-M also has condemned the BJP Govt's decision of removal of Sanghati-Fair programme from annual list which is yearly held in Belonia, South Tripura.
Sanghati-Fair is held every year on December 6, the day of Babri mosque demolition day.
CPI-M has condemned the decision saying the BJP Govt in all means have continued its attacks upon the democracy, unity and integrity.
CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das said, "Even the Chief Justice of Supreme Court (Ranjan Gogoi) has mentioned that not to abiding by the constitution is called unruliness. Today Supreme Court and Justice system are under total attack under BJP-ruling".
"We are urging the common men to fight against the anti-democratic Govt", said Gautam Das.
(On 6 December 1992, a large crowd of Hindu Kar Sevaks demolished the 16th-century Babri Mosque in the city of Ayodhya, in Uttar Pradesh. The demolition occurred after a political rally at the site turned violent. In Hindu tradition, the city of Ayodhya is the birthplace of Rama).
