Tribal Student's Association demands Kokborok language's inclusion in the 8th Schedule of constitution

AGARTALA, Nov 22 (TIWN): All Tripura Indigenous Student's Association have hit a protest rally demanding inclusion of Kokborok in 8th schedule of the constitution.

The rally was followed by a huge gathering at the Astabal Stadium, which is also known as Swami Vivekananda Stadium. A huge numbers of participants had walked the rally at Agartala city. 

Kokborok is the native language of the Borok people of the Indian state of Tripura and neighbouring areas of Bangladesh. The name comes from kok, meaning "language" and borok, neaning "human", Kokborok is closely related to the Bodo, Dimasa and Kachari languages of the neighbouring state of Assam.
