AGARTALA, Nov 21 (TIWN): Tripura journalists will remember slain journalist Sudip Datta Bhowmik on his first death anniversary in front Rabindra Bhawan at 5 pm.
Bhowmik was killed during the period when he was exposing police's corruption.
Tripura's two journalists were killed ahead of Assembly Election : 1) Sudip Datta Bhoumik and 2) SantanuBhoumik during Manik Sarkar's regime.
After BJP came in power both the cases were handed over to CBI, but so far no development has come.
Sudip Datta Bhaumik (died 21 November 2017) was a journalist killed in Tripura allegedly by a police officer of the Tripura State Rifles Tapan Debbarma along with other police officials during an altercation. Sudip was a reporter of Bengali newspaper Syandan Patrika and local television channel News Vanguard.
Santanu Bhowmik (died 20 September 2017) was a photo-journalist was killed in a clash led by IPFT.
