AGARTALA, Nov 17 (TIWN): Instead of condemning the ongoing attacks upon opposition leaders and exposer of BJP goons who are openly breaking vehicles of various party leaders, attacking oppositions, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Friday night while addressing on the occasion of "National Press Day" said that 'Attacks upon Journalists cameras & Politicians cars are not at all rare events'.
CM's statement turns controversial as he made the statement just after Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was attacked at Bishalgarh and one Leftist MLA's vehicle was broken. One day ago (on Thursday), another CPI-M leader (Jila Sabhadipati of Belonia) Himangshu Roy's vehicle was broken.
Chief Minister further asked Ratan lal Nath whether his vehicle was attacked or not and Nath relied, "Once long back". Then motormouth CM continued, "I was not attacked as my political career has been very short".
CM further said, “You are often attacked, we are also attacked. Politicians cars are broken often. So, there is nothing to think like there should be gap among politicians and journalists. We belong to same society”.
