AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): ICAT Dept has organized "National Press Day 2018" on Friday here in Agartala Press Club.

A seminar was conducted on the topic of "Journalism Ethics and Challenges in Digital Era" at the press club, inaugurated by Chief Minister Biplab Deb.

Education Minister Ratan lal Nath, High Court Justice Arindam Lodh, ICAT Secretary M L Dey, leading Bengali newspaper Sandyan Editor Subal Dey also remained present on that occasion. 

Total three senior journalists were felicitated on National Press Day 2018 : 1) Pradip Datta Bhowmik (Editor of Dainik Sambad), 2) Arun Nath (Editor of Tripura Observer), 3) Pranab Sarkar (Journalist in All India Radio). 

At the National level, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday spoke on the occasion of National Press Day (at Delhi) and said that it is impossible to censor news due to the technology available today.
