AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Biplab Deb Govt’s VAT trend is leading ONGC like companies under heavy trouble and even after urged by centre, VAT on aviation turbine fuel has not been reduced by the Govt. Costly flight tickets in all routes have hit the passengers in Tripura everyday, whereas the Civil Aviation department of the Central Govt had urged all state govts to reduce VAT on ATF in March 2018. Not only flight tickets are at crisis but one after flights are quitting Tripura, but Govt has no intention to reduce the VAT. Many states have reduced ATF taxes following the call of the Central Govt.

Neighbouring Assam charges only 5% tax, but Tripura charges 20%!

Union Civil Aviation Secretary RN Choubey on Thursday called upon States to bring down VAT on aviation turbine fuel.

Tickets for Delhi-Agartala, Agartala-Kolkata, Kolkata-Agartala are offering mounting charges to the travelers.

This costly flight fares were never experienced in last many years, but with numbers of quitting flights the cost is turning unbearable for common men.

At the same time unavailability of tickets are leading heavy sufferings for the patients parties who are unable to travel other states for treatment. Apart from that issue, if any ticket is available then its price is skyrocketing. Air India Tickets (if luckily anybody gets) it costs Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 16,000.

Overall, Airway passengers are reeling under same miseries. This situation has been worsen due to Indigo morning flights departure and SpiceJet's unavailability.

With the numbers of decreasing flights in Agartala Airport, crisis of ticket amid skyrocketing price have gripped the airway transport.

After state had undergone a shock with SpiceJet service's closing, the most crowded Agartala-Kolkata, Kolkata-Agartala morning flights of Indigo had also stopoed service from Oct 21.

Already with SpiceJet's closing flight fares went high for Agartala passengers whereas with Indigo's closing of two flights will lead more costly flight fares.

Amid poor revenue for decades both SpiceJet and Indigo had served Tripura, whereas with 8 months of BJP Govt Airport is almost in paralyzed situation and Modi's H for Highways, I for I-Ways, R for Railways, A for Airways is resulting just against the expectation of public.
