AGARTALA, Nov 14 (TIWN): CPI-M farmers wing All India Kishan Sabha (AIKS) has claimed, allover the state the production rate of crops have been heavily decreased.
Addressing media, AIKS State Secretary Narayan Kar said due to lack of Presticise, Urea and other necessary things, farmers have been unable to cultivate rice this year and the main crop (Amon Dhan) production was heavily disrupted.
"Tripura is an agriculture based state but the production rate is heavily decreasing. Even after cultivation, crops are damaging as from Govt side no aid is being provided", Kar told media.
"Urea has been given under tender but whoever will get the tender they must to the farmers to help. Water crisis have hit fields as no machine / pumps left damaged have been repaired in last 8 months. Pump operators were suspended alleging they are CPI-M people. New pump operator can not operate pump machine", he said.
Kar further hit the Modi Govt for fooling people in the name of "Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna".
The CPI-M leader further took a dig at Biplab Deb's Govt where above 48,000 farmers were devastated, but no compensation was given to them, rather further fooling looting insurance money from farmers.
Kar added, crore of around 40 lakhs of premium was taken by Reliance company from Tripura farmers, which is "Greater Scam than Rafale".
