AGARTALA, Nov 12 (TIWN): Lameduck Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) due to some technical "errors" served double bills to many households, whereas from this month the bill is under order again.
Thousands of complaints in last two months were submitted in the TSECL, but the company never accepted the guilt. The billing men don't read the meter and when asked they would say, "It's online system now".
If asked, why the bills were coming double, they would say "due to technical error". But TSECL didn't refund anything.
In offices where usually bills come around at Rs. 3000, they had to pay Rs. 6000 in the August and September months.
As a result in the name of "Online" system huge payments were burdened upon the common men. At the same time, load-shedding problems continue to haunt the public.
Recently Chief Minister Biplab Deb said that in Tripura the "Electricity Bill" is the lowest in compare to other states, which has raised question, whether BJP Govt increased the bill in "purpose" ?
Tripura Power Ministry is controlled by Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma, who is also the Finance Minister of the State.
