AGARTALA, September 27 (TIWN): Terming Tripura as his ‘Karmabhumi’ the newly appointed state Chief Information Commissioner K.V.Satyanarayana has today flattered the people and authority concerned by praising Tripura for doing good in the field of Right To Information Act (RTI). “Tripura has been utilising the RTI tool in an effective way and more awareness are need for public informationâ€, said the CIC, who was holding the post of Additional Chief Secretary of state.
He has been awarded with this prestigious post within a span of five to six months after his discharge from the office of Additional Chief Secretary. “Though an applicant must get the information within a period of 30 days, since the filing of RTI application but we shall try to reduce the time and deliver results as fast as possible”, he said. The Tripura Information Commission (TIC) was set up in January 19, 2006. “Under the Act and and in time whatever can be done I would contribute my best as far as possible”, remarked the newly appointed CIC Mr. Satyanarayana.
Meanwhile, on being asked about the number of cases pending and resolved in TIC, the Secretary of the commission could not inform our TIWN correspondent anything. “We can inform in this way, we have to see registers, the exact number is not available with me, as of now”, said the Secretary.
