AGARTALA, Oct 19 (TIWN): Durga Puja 2018 remained gloom for households, specially the poor section of people as Govt didn’t provide any work at all since 7 months of it has been in power brought also a negative impact in markets statewide. At the same time commodity price hike, fuel price hike, fare hike hit the common men. In Bijoya Dasami also the houses including middle class families budget has been merged due to huge price hike and loss in business. The pensioners neither get any Pay Matrix benefit nor the employees could know how much the salaries to be increased from next month. With all these, Dasami celebration was also marred due to the down economy. Even though in town areas colouful pandal decorations sidelined state’s problems but footballs in main town areas from rural Tripura remained less this year, says ground report.

In compare to this year other years the crowd from rural areas heavily observed in town areas, whereas this year rural people, specially the poor class remained less in compare to other years.

Only two days puja work at total Rs 320 rupees was given followed by very less numbers of MGNREGA works. In this situation, the economy stayed depressed, which also affected heavily in markets.

The commodity prices have been spiked up along with fuel price hikes, further damaged the Durga puja celebration. Indeed in poor people’s hand there were hardly any work along with massive terminations of workers from Municipality to Anganwadi mid-day-meal employees.

Social pensions suspension in the name of verification, delay of salaries, nil recruitment have hit the state in Durga puja season.

When BJP is backing various issues like NRC, Ayodhya's Ram Mandir State economy left totally depressed with continuous price hike of commodities. ADC areas and deep rural areas left without work, poor people's Durga Puja this year turned gloom due to no money, no income at all.

Opposition CPI-M under Gana Mukti Parishad (CPI-M's tribal wing) has demanded 200 days MGNREGA works in ADC areas, but Govt turned a deaf ear to the opposition’s demand.

Unemployment is not only the problem of Tripura, but across the country the same problems are being faced by jobless people under Modi Govt. Being fed up with Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s bizarre remarks, with his fancy planning for unemployed youths, netizens are throwing sharp reactions against their new Chief Minister.

With all these, Durga Puja this year yet remained gloomed, with market left heavily depressed.
