AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): The age old brutal tradition of Buffalo sacrifice at Durga Bari temple on Thursday to mark the celebration of Maha Navami-the last day of the Durga Puja.
Although cruel, but still superstitious people will throng to Durgabari temple premises to have a glance of such a barbaric practice.
The innocent animals killing on temple premises is considered as the part practice of 'sacrifice'.
Same cruelty followed in Christianity and Islam where mute animals are killed in the name of 'sacrifice'.
On Maha Navami Goddess Durga is worshiped as Mahisasuramardini which means the Annihilator of the Buffalo Demon. It is believed that on Maha Navami day Durga killed the demon Mahishasura.
Although 21st Century has come, but Educated people over-signifying the spiritual believes keep faith on such practices and taking that opportunity a section of people doing business for decades.
