AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): Ideological differences among CPI-M and BJP were seen after both parties had demanded two separate issues for 'tribal welfare'.

BJP has demanded a State Council for Tribals, which may also lead to "Restoration of original historical names of historical places and monuments , rivers, hills, towns, regions, villages which has been altered by state Govt" (according to the State Council proposal of BJP before election).

CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar however has demanded overall development amid peace and harmony. A Bengali backed party Amra Bangali said, "State Council" is just another suicide just as "ADC". According to Amra Banglai ADC formation was actually plantation of a "BISHBRIKHSHA" (poisonours tree) planted by CPI-M earlier.

However, before election the State Council features were proposed as :

1) The Kok-Borok language is one of the official language of Tripura, but due to the negligence, its development has been slowed down. Thus, Kok-Borok will be brought under 8th schedule of the Constitution of India. Also there will be Kokborok and other tribal languages research centre in the Autonomous State Council.

2) The land rights to be implemented properly, including the Schedule Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006.

3) Massive recruitment of ST though special recruitment drive as there are huge back-log ST reserved posts,

4)Traditional Medicines and alternative treatment system research institute of the indigenous people will be established,

5) Promotion & Development of traditional indigenous games and sports for orienting to national unity and integration,

6) Community Radio Centre and Doordarshan Kendra will be set up  within the Autonomous State Council for the development of indigenous tribal folk dance, folk music, culture and languages.

7) To establish the centrally funded sports and games academy for hunting talents for the tribal youth from Tripura,

8) Traditional handloom and handicrafts of the indigenous people of Tripura orienting for its development,

9) The emphasis should be given to the tourism development in all parts of Tripura involving the natural beauties and the historical monuments and places of the Maharaja's time.

10) The title of highest civilian award "Bharat Ratna" most likely awarded to our Lt Maharajah Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya honouring his great contribution for the wellbeing of the people of Tripura.

11) The Agartala Airport should be renamed as Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Airport as it was built by the sole initiative of the then Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bhahadur Dev Barma.

12) Restoration of original historical names of historical places and monuments , rivers, hills, towns, regions, villages which has been altered by state Govt,

13) Development should be given priority on agriculture, horticulture, milk production etc so that poor indigenous people can stand on their own foot economically  and take part in nation building,

14) 10 number of mini smart cities will be established under the Autonomous State Council, under PM Modi's Sab-Ka-Sath, Sab-Ka-Bikash mission,

15) To uplift the living standard with all facilities should be given under 21st century from good roads, good schools, electricity, drinking water, communication mediums to come over the gap of undeveloped years.

However, experts are saying State Council will work as a Territorial Council as it was before 1971 so Tripura is going backward in time to appease Tribal sentiments rather than any actual developments.
