Agartala, September 23 (TIWN): The Newly Elected MLA from Manu By-Poll, Prabhat Chowdhury takes oath on Wednesday. Speaker Ramendra Chandra Debnath will administer oath taking ceremony in the Assembly Lobby.
Prabhat Chowdhury sweeped to victory in the 39 Manu Assembly By-polls. Mr. Chowdhury has defeated his competitor Mailfru Mog by 15971 votes.The counting of Manu Assembly By-Poll started at 8am on last Tuesday. After final round of counting it is declared that CPIM Candidate Prabhat Chowdhury has won the election by 15971 votes. The total vote count for CPIM is 21759, Congress-5788, BJP15550, Trinamool Congress- 1110, INPT-432, and IPFT- 1018 respectively. It is to be mentioned here that the 39 Manu Assembly By-polls were conducted on 13th September
The By-poll is scheduled to fulfill the vacant seat of former Industry Minister Jitendra Chowdhury. He is now the MP of Loksabha.
