AGARTALA, Oct 6 (TIWN): In BJP ruled Tripura, Municipal Corporation officials / councilors are being attacked, forced to be resigned from posts and most of the times women councilors are the main targets, with this allegation a massive protest rally was conducted at Agartala on Saturday by councilors.

Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Prafullajit Sinha led the protest at Paradise Chowmuhani.

Recently holding a press meet CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar said, In the name of protest BJP recently had shown protest in front of ward no-29 under AMC with various issues, BJP allegedly forced one councilor Soma Biswas to sign in a paper which said if within 7 days certain demands are not fulfilled, she has to resign. Out of threatening, she was bound to sign on it whereas it’s never possible to fulfill these demands within 7 days.

However, similar attacks' reports have been coming from various parts of the state. After Panchayat Election BJP wants to conduct Municipality election and just like Panchayat election, BJP is forcing councilors to resign, alleged CPI-M.
