AGARTALA / KOLKATA, Oct 6 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb when asked by "India Today" journalist Rahul Kanwal on Saturday on the the reason behind the ongoing allegations against his Govt for closing of Communist backed newspaper 'Daily Desher Katha' on October 1st night which is leading into a national level protest now, he (CM) referred the banning of another newspaper in Tripura during Communist regime back in 2017.
Behind closing of that newspaper there were similar RNI issues for which "Daily Desher Katha" was also banned, but CM has blamed the CPI-M Govt which was ruling the state on that time.
As the ban was imposed by the then DM of West District, Millind Ramteke, now questions raising on Ramteke's role as an officer under CPI-M Govt, even though Chief Minister has made Ramteke now "Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister".
As CM also talked about "transparency" of his Govt, so questions raise, why had he appointed one officer whom he indirectly has accused today as CPI-M Govt's psychopath and responsible for banning of Pratibadi Kalam ?
