AGARTALA, Sep 30 (TIWN): Tripura Health Minister Sudip Barman while addressing at Tripura AYUSH Mission Employees Association organized blood donation camp at Banamalipur has called for voluntary blood donation on tomorrow, on the occasion of National Blood Donation Day which is to be celebrated at Rabindra Bhawan.

"Every year this programme is being conducted. I urge all who are from 18 years to 65 years but have not donated blood yet, please visit Rabindra Bhawan and donate blood in festive manner. Huge amounts of blood automatically spoiled inside the body after a certain time whereas one unit blood can save thee lives if donated", Sudip Barman said. 

“I would like to appreciate the much valuable effort of Ayush Mission Employees Association for organising today's Blood Donation Festival. It is indeed a great initiative and I would like to see more such humanity serving steps taken by your association and also other organisations across the state in near future”, Sudip Barman further said after the programme was ended.

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is getting celebrated in India at 1st of October every year to share the need and importance of the blood in the life of an individual. It was first started celebrating on 1st of October in the year 1975 through the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohaematology.
