AGARTALA, Sep 25 (TIWN): State Govt is ready to discuss on the issue of pay-hikes of the internees doctors of Tripura Medical College (TMC), if society asks the Govt for any help.

In a press conference at Secretariat, Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman has told media, urging the internees not to continue ‘dharna’ as ultimately patients are suffering.

“Govt is positive to discuss, even though TMC is a society run institution. Raising demands are very natural practices but patients parties should not be suffered”, Health Minister added.

As all 82 internees doctors of Tripura Medical College (TMC) have gone in strike demanding pay hikes, patients are suffering.

Long queues of patient parties were seen at TMC and the health service was halted, but the trainees told media if 'no hike' then 'no service' accusing the College authority as capitalist.

According to the agitators, whereas at AGMC doctors in practice are getting Rs. 18,000 but in TMC the same doctors are getting only Rs. 12,500.
