AGARTALA, September 21 (TIWN): The investigation progress in the Bishalgarh RD block scam case, is reported to be stagnant as the concerned (Bishalgarh PS) authority has literally done nothing, till now. Officer in Charge (OC) of Bishalgarh PS, where the FIR of the case was lodged, couple of days ago, said to TIWN correspondent, today: “The BDO has said that he would give all the documents including the Internal Audit Report (IAR), later on. The enquiry protocol or the official procedure in this regard is – the BDO must give a letter to the concerned Police Station (PS) for initiating any action or detention whatsoever. Now, the words “Later On†put forward by the BDO Subrata Das may denote the direction of his superiors not to initiate any action, in the said case.
No arrest or detention and neither any interropgation and information worth reporting has been made so far. The MLA and finance minister Bhanu Lal Saha’s much talked involvement, in the aforesaid issue, can not be ignored as the task and procedures of implementation and utilization of funds at block level remains within the purview of the concerned elected representative of the respective area.
Bimal Chakraborty, merely being an official of the block, can not have the scope and space to place such a huge corruption of Rs. 17 crore. The reluctance of the people in power, to fix the case, can be easily understood when unnecessary delay is being made so to deviate the attention of the people from this burning issue. “The BDO has said that he would give all the documents including the Internal Audit Report (IAR) , later on”, Officer in Charge (OC) of Bishalgargh PS, where the FIR of the case was lodged, couple of days ago.
